As an embedded software engineer for hydrogen fuel cells, your focus will be mainly on developing application level C code for an automotive embedded platform, analyzing and testing C code and coordinating across disciplines.

Task description

You will spend most of your time working on:

Developing application level C code for an automotive embedded platform. Our software will read and process data from the numerous sensors in the fuel cell system, execute control algorithms, control a wide array of actuators, perform diagnostic functions and communicate with other systems. You will continuously improve the software to accommodate more advanced control functions, different system configurations and different customer interfaces in a scalable and maintainable way.

Analyzing and testing C code. You will apply state-of-the-art static analysis and dynamic analysis techniques to ensure that the fuel cell control software you have written works correctly and adheres to strict automotive and safety requirements.

Coordinating across disciplines. You will work at the intersection of several departments within zepp, requiring you to coordinate requirements with electrical engineers, control engineers and test engineers. Furthermore, your responsibility includes the interfaces between the fuel cell system and the customer, requiring coordination with the customer to help them successfully integrate zepp’s fuel cell system in their vehicle, machine or ship.

Job in a nutshell

  • Integrating the fuel cell control code in a wide range of different applications and system configurations.
  • Extracting software requirements from component, system and interface specifications.
  • Implementation of application software in C.
  • Performing static analysis, writing and performing unit and integration tests.
  • Analyzing safety-critical software functions and writing the corresponding safety documentation.
  • Continued development of in-house developed build toolchains, continuous integration (CI) toolchains and data analysis tools using Python.
  • Growth opportunities in the areas of software architecture, low-level embedded code, or control system design.

 

Our needs & wants

  • Experienced in (embedded) C.
  • Understanding how to develop software for good maintainability, testability.
  • Affinity with hydrogen fuel cell systems.
  • Experience with version management and continuous integration.
  • Experience with Python preferred.
  • Familiarity with functional safety is a plus.
  • HBO or BSc/MSc degree/level/experience in Computer Science, Embedded Systems or similar.
  • Fluency in English with effective communication skills.
