Medior Software Engineer Control Systems and C/C++

This role involves designing, implementing en validating control algorithms, diagnostic algorithms and supporting software for hydrogen fuel cell systems. You will be responsible for improving the control of zepp fuel cell systems, working out the design and implementation of existing ideas, proposing new ideas and analyzing the behavior in the fuel cell system.

You will be designing, implementing and validating control algorithms, diagnostic algorithms and supporting software for hydrogen fuel cell systems.

You will be responsible for improving the control of zepp fuel cell systems, working out the design and implementation of existing ideas, proposing new ideas and analyzing the behavior in the fuel cell system.

You’ll primarily work from our office in Delft, collaborating with fellow (software) engineers. We hold weekly progress meetings at both company (20-25 people) and department levels, along with frequent daily discussions among immediate colleagues. While you’ll largely work autonomously on design and implementation tasks, there will be regular brainstorming sessions with 1 or 2 colleagues to refine the design approach as needed.

If desired, it is possible to advance to a position where you will have a more leading role in the fuel cell control software development.

Task description

Your focus will mainly be on:

  • Design and enhance control and diagnostic algorithms for fuel cell control, utilizing techniques such as state-space control, Kalman filtering, optimization, and state-machines. Design and documentation tasks are primarily conducted using Python/Jupyterlab.
  • Implement control and diagnostic algorithms, as well as supporting software, using C/C++. Perform static analysis and unit testing for verification.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to validate the control algorithms, set up test procedures and analyze test data.

  • Residing in the Netherlands.
  • Academic working and thinking level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, C or C++ and Git (or similar).
  • Profound grasp of control algorithms, adept at matching specific algorithms to certain scenarios while maintaining a holistic perspective on software architecture during implementation.
  • Ability to comprehend complex systems (helicopter view), coupled with a curiosity to unravel the underlying mechanisms and synthesize comprehensive insights.
  • Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Capable of distilling core concepts from a set of ideas or algorithms, and articulating them clearly in documentation.
  • Proactive in proposing and implementing innovative ideas and solutions.

  • Contract with a clear prospect of permanent employment
  • 40 hours work week (32 hours is possible), time-for-time
  • 8% holiday pay
  • 30 days leave per year (1 FTE)
