Test Engineer hydrogen fuel cell systems

This role involves the rigorous testing of hydrogen fuel cell systems using our cutting-edge proprietary test bench. This includes operating the test bench, collecting and possibly analysing the test data, executing and preparing test plans and documenting test procedures, findings and observations.

If you are interested in us, we are probably interested in you too. So introduce yourself to us and we’ll see if we’re a match for each other.

Your role involves the rigorous testing of hydrogen fuel cell systems using our cutting-edge proprietary test bench. This includes operating the test bench, collecting and possibly analysing the test data, executing and preparing test plans and documenting test procedures, findings and observations. Beyond testing the complete fuel cell system, you’ll also dive into testing individual components and subsystems, with a key responsibility and hands-on mentality for designing and assembling the test setups needed for these assessments.

As a growing company, your work won’t be limited to testing fuel cell systems. You will also support the assembly team, which will enhance your knowledge of our systems and improve your technical skills. This experience will be invaluable when it comes to adapting the test bench for system testing purposes.

Most of your working days take place at our test facility in Rotterdam, where you’ll collaborate closely with another test engineer. In addition to our testing grounds, Rotterdam hosts an assembly workshop where we assemble completely integrated fuel cell systems and hydrogen storage systems. We have weekly progress meetings at company and department level, along with daily interactions with your immediate colleagues. A given task usually starts with a discussion with colleagues about the test objectives, possible outcomes and attention points, which is followed by you testing the system independently, with discussion moments when needed and possible further test proceedings.

Your journey at Zepp offers significant growth prospects. You’ll have the chance to progress towards overseeing the test bench operations and ultimately leading (external) test campaigns, including certification and environmental testing.

Task description

Your focus will mainly be on:

  • Testing the zepp hydrogen fuel cell systems on our testbench. You are responsible to operate the test bench, collect data and describe the test results.
  • Testing innovative new components. You will also be responsible to design and assemble the test set-up to test these individual components or subsystems.
