The roots of zepp.solutions are with the Forze Hydrogen Racing team. From 2012 onward, Jonas Brendelberger, Jan Bot, Kevin Schreiber, Joost Kortleve and Remco Duba formed the core of this technical development group of the TU Delft. The primary mission of this university team was to promote hydrogen fuel cell technology as a viable future propulsion solution for mobility. During their time with the team, the founders played a key role in developing several high-performance fuel cell systems, achieving peak power outputs in the multiple hundred-kilowatt range.

The fuel cell-powered race cars they developed set multiple lap records on international tracks, including breaking Nissan’s fuel cell-powered record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Tesla’s electric lap record at Circuit Zandvoort. In the summer of 2017, the team made history by becoming the first to compete in an official race with a hydrogen fuel cell-powered car.
As the demand for convenient, zero-emission power solutions grew, the founders began analyzing the market potential of their fuel cell technology in 2016. This led to the establishment of zepp.solutions in early 2017, with its headquarters set up at the energy and offshore accelerator Buccaneer Delft.
In 2020, zepp launched its first fuel cell system and delivered it to Terberg Benschop B.V., for a fuel cell yard tractor: the YT203-H2. The goal of this collaboration was to develop, test, and demonstrate a hydrogen fuel cell yard tractor, specifically optimized to meet the demanding operations of a conventional Terberg tractor. The YT203-H2 was designed to fulfill all operational requirements for various applications, including logistics, distribution, and port operations in the global market.
During the last 5 years, we have developed systems for numerous heavy-duty applications, all built on our in-house developed engineering platform. With projects such as TULIPS, Ab Initio, DREAMHAUL and the development of our ‘Europa‘ truck, we have gained copious experience in the development, engineering and intergration processes of hydrogen fuel cell systems.

The zepp.solutions team has continued to grow, now comprising 28 enthusiastic and talented professionals. Housing not only the developing and designing, but also the engineering and integrational aspects of our operations, zepp.solutions consists of a team with a broad expertise and understanding of fuel cell technology.
We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve managed to accomplish and partnerships we have formed over the past 8 years. Looking forward, we’re excited about what the future holds and how we’ll be able to contribute to the energy transition.
